The Story of Nora & Elle

The Story of Nora & Elle

The Story of Nora & Elle

A passion for fashion led me (Tarin) and my sis Brooke to launch Nora & Elle in April 2015. We’d been bridesmaids many many times and grew totally frustrated at the selection of dresses available. This one time (not at band camp), we ordered dresses from an overseas shop (we won’t name and shame because we’re nice people) and they were SO DISAPPOINTING. The fit, the material, and even the colour were completely different to what was advertised. We had to scurry to find alternative bridesmaid dresses at the last minute they were that bad! This got us thinking….

We had a vision, to bring the ladies of Perth beautiful, unique, in-expensive dresses coupled with a lovely customer experience. We started sourcing local and overseas designers and before we knew it, we had a range. Our shop, initially in my garage which my hubby lovingly renovated for me, is cute and personal…we started with the bare minimum but are growing day by day!

We wanted to offer the BEST personalised service going too. Again, we’d experienced the alternative and we were really disappointed by it.  We really get a thrill being a small part of the bridal experience. We form such great relationships with our customers which makes us feel super special.

So besides being biz owners, we’re both mums. Brooke has little Bodhi who’s 1 and I have Harlow who’s 16 months old…both beautiful, both SUPER energetic! Being mums, juggling jobs AND a business can be super hard work but do you know what? We wouldn’t change a thing. Nora & Elle doesn’t feel like a job AT ALL and it’s our goal to one day make this a full time gig for both of us.

When we’re not being mums, biznay owners or worker bees we like to get out and exercise. Not because we’re fitness fenatics actually the opposite….we’re complete foodies and pretty much exercise so we can eat more. I know, total impostors to the #fitspo movement but hey, if we get to eat chocolate without guilt and indulge in that second glass (bottle?!) of wine, we’re IN!

Spending time with our friends and family is central to everything we do. Sometimes we mix business with pleasure and organise girls nights in store where our nearest and dearest will pop in for some bubbly and we’ll con them into packing orders for us. Ha ha. They love it.

Nora & Elle is truly a family affair and a labour of love. We have big dreams for the business and really love the designs we stock. We hand pick each and every gown and stock only the finest of frocks. We are the ONLY store in WA offering the hugely popular Pia Gladys Perry range. Check them out, they are divine! We’ve also made a foray into designing our own convertible gowns which we are REALLY proud of. Oh and don’t let me forget Jadore, they suit every shape and are a really beautiful design. We’d love to see more photos of our lovely customers rocking their Nora & Elle dresses so send your happy snaps in! We are always really excited to see our customers glammed up for their big event.

Oh and another fast fact about us, neither of us have studied fashion or business! Our passion alone has driven us to create this little biz. We’ve learnt on the go and trudged through all the ins and outs of business because we believe in our products. Every woman deserves to look and feel beautiful. We offer personalised appointments so we can find the perfect dress to complement the customer. So really, we’re kinda stylists too which is AWESOME. Watching our customers beam back at their reflection with happiness is SUCH a highlight.

And that’s our story, two sisters with a penchant for well designed frocks who love bringing exquisite, well fitted, beautiful gowns to the masses.

We hope you love the range as much as we do!
